AVB Translations specialises in legal translations. Our legal clients set extremely strict quality, flexibility and reliability requirements.
For legal translations AVB works exclusively with experienced legal translators, many of whom have legal qualifications and all of whom have many years of experience as well as being native speakers of the target language (in accordance with the native-speaker principle). Many of our translators are registered in the Rbtv (Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators), which means that they can provide sworn translations. In this regard, our knowledge and experience is unparalleled, as we deliver hundreds of sworn translations every year.
Your deadline is sacred to our project managers. They carefully monitor our translators’ and proofreaders’ delivery times and consistency of quality. This ensures that we satisfy your requirements in both regards. We are also one of the few translation agencies to be available day and night for urgent assignments, questions and feedback.
We understand better than anyone that legal documents contain sensitive and confidential information. For this reason, all of our translators and external suppliers have signed a non-disclosure agreement to guarantee complete confidentiality. Monitored translation quality
ISO 17100 certification
Since the beginning of 2016, AVB has been certified according to the new ISO 17100 standard. ISO 17100:2015 is the new international quality standard for translation work. However, AVB worked according to a fixed quality-control process long before this standard ever existed. These process steps have since been certified and they function as guidelines when structuring our translation processes and services. This means that independent auditors have assessed and confirmed that our methods monitor and guarantee consistent high quality.
Experienced project managers
To guarantee quality, we have divided the translation process into a number of distinctive steps. Within this process, we have built in a number of checks that ensure consistent translation quality. An experienced project manager supervises the entire process. He/she conducts the initial analysis of the document, selects the best translator for the job, ensures an independent proofreader is engaged and carries out a pre-delivery check.

Automated quality assurance (QA) system
To realise the highest possible level of quality, our translators make use of CAT software. CAT stands for Computer Aided Translation. It’s a virtual toolbox for translators. One of the most important tools is the QA module. This part of the package compares the source and target texts and searches for omissions, inconsistencies in translated words/terms, miscalculations, formatting errors and incorrect punctuation.
