AVB Translations is the Netherlands’ leading translation agency for translations in all specialist fields and in all language combinations. We are a modern, flexible, client-focused service provider with a unique passion for language. AVB has been supplying top-level translations ever since the company was founded in 1972. And so it was no coincidence that, in 2008, we were the first general translation agency in the Netherlands to gain certification according to the NEN-EN 15038 standard, the only independent quality hallmark.

Combining the old and the new

Traditionally AVB has always excelled in “old economy” sectors such as legal translations, financial translations, technical and medical translations and marketing translations. We also have many clients in the government and care sectors. Following the merger between Amstelveens Vertaalburo and Translation World in mid-2010, the focus of our services has increasingly shifted towards the use of modern translation technology.

Cost and time efficiencies through the use of advanced technology

We utilise CAT tools: intelligent software that allows the translator to draw on previous translations. This leads to lower costs, shorter delivery times and higher quality of the translation work. Moreover, thanks to our technical expertise we can translate web texts from environments such as HTML, XML and CMS using this technology.
